A new planet was found, Sedna, named after the Inuit goddess of the Ocean. It was discovered in a part of space called the Kuiper Belt, which is packed with hundreds of objects made of rock and ice. It may be the same size as Pluto or slightly smaller. Because of its rotation, it's believed to have a moon.
With the controversy of whether or not Pluto should be considered a planet, I wonder what the future of this discovery will be?

Re: New Planet
Tue, March 16, 2004 - 7:44 PMWell, with all the hype about the scientific community wanting to downgrade Pluto, I wouldn't be surprised if this new discovery is classified as a minor planet with a moon.
If is believed to be only 1,300 miles in diameter so it would be less distance than from Los Angeles to College Station, TX. Dammm... I need to get back to Long Beach. Put me on the next train to Hotel California.
